Bicillin C-R (penicillin G benzathine and penicillin G procaine) Injectable Suspension is an antibiotic used to treat many different types of severe infections, including strep and staph infections, diphtheria, meningitis, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Bicillin C-R is also used to prevent infections of the heart valves in people with certain heart conditions who need to have dental work or surgery.

The drug is often used to treat Meningitis , Syphilis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • fever,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • chills,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • seizure,
  • joint pain,
  • fainting,
  • agitation,
  • dark colored urine,
  • mouth sores,
  • slow heart rate,
  • severe stomach pain,
  • pounding heartbeats,
  • vaginal itching or discharge
  • hallucinations,
  • slow breathing,
  • pale or yellowed skin,
  • easy bruising or bleeding,
  • weak pulse,
  • extreme fear,
  • weakness in your arms or legs,
  • pain, numbness, tingling, burning, or feeling cold,
  • pale or mottled skin,
  • blue-colored lips, fingers, or toes,
  • severe pain, tingling, weakness, or swelling in your lower leg,
  • blistering, peeling, discoloration, or painful skin changes, where the medicine was injected,
  • diarrhea that is watery or bloody (even if it occurs months after last dose),
  • warmth, redness, bleeding, a lump, or skin changes where the medicine was injected,
  • urination problems,
  • warmth or redness under your skin, and,

  • Bactocill (oxacillin)
  • Maxipime (cefepime hydrochloride for injection)
  • Declomycin (demeclocycline hcl)
  • Dificid (fidaxomicin tablets for oral administration)
The following supplements are related to Bicillin CR, and may be used together with the drug:
  • Alpha-Linolenic Acid (s.)
