Zostavax (zoster vaccine live)

Zostavax (Zoster Vaccine Live) is a live vaccine used to prevent herpes zoster virus (shingles) in people age 60 and older. Zostavax will not treat shingles or nerve pain caused by shingles (post-herpetic neuralgia).

The drug is often used to treat Shingles .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• headache,
• diarrhea,
• skin rash.
• joint or muscle pain, or
• injection site reactions (redness, itching, swelling, warmth, bruising, and pain),

• Zovirax (acyclovir)
• Zovirax Suspension (acyclovir)
• Zovirax Injection (acyclovir for injection)
• Zovirax Ointment (acyclovir ointment)
• Benadryl (diphenhydramine)
• Famvir (famciclovir)
• Gralise (gabapentin tablets)
• Shingrix (zoster vaccine recombinant, adjuvanted suspension for intramuscular injection)
• Varivax (varicella virus vaccine live)
• VariZIG (varicella zoster immune globulin (human) for injection)
