Trokendi XR (topiramate) Extended-release is a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide used as initial monotherapy in patients 10 years of age and older with partial onset or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures and adjunctive therapy in patients 6 years of age and older with partial onset or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- loss of appetite,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- weight loss,
- confusion,
- chills,
- tiredness,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- dizziness,
- blurred vision,
- constipation,
- joint pain,
- nervousness,
- weakness,
- cough,
- agitation,
- fast or shallow breathing,
- sore throat,
- blood in the urine,
- mood changes,
- drowsiness,
- aggression,
- abdominal pain,
- depression,
- thoughts of suicide,
- irritability,
- eye pain,
- memory problems,
- frequent urination,
- numbness or tingling,
- loss of bladder control,
- double vision,
- nosebleeds,
- bloating,
- hearing loss,
- ringing in the ears,
- increased eye pressure,
- menstrual changes,
- lack of coordination,
- low back or side pain,
- menstrual cramps,
- difficulty or painful urination,
- rapidly decreasing vision,
- rolling eye movements,
- redness of the eyes,
- slowing of mental and physical activity,
- speech or language problems,
- apathy,
- red, irritated or bleeding gums,
- decrease in sexual desire,
- blistering of the skin,
- blistering in the mouth,
- white spots in the mouth or on the lips,
- decreased responsiveness,
- increased drowsiness, and
- severe sleepiness
