Tindamax (tinidazole)

type of Antiparasitic Agents, Nitroimidazoles

Tindamax (tinidazole tablets) is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial used to treat trichomoniasis, giardiasis in patients age 3 and older, amebiasis in patients age 3 and older, and bacterial vaginosis in adult women.

The drug is often used to treat Bacterial vaginosis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • vomiting,
  • constipation.
  • abdominal discomfort,
  • headache,
  • fatigue,
  • weakness,
  • dizziness, and
  • indigestion/heartburn,
  • feeling unwell (malaise),
  • abdominal cramps,
  • metallic/bitter taste,
The following drugs are related to Tindamax, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Xaciato (clindamycin phosphate vaginal gel)
  • Talicia (omeprazole magnesium, amoxicillin and rifabutin delayed-release capsules)
