Tindamax (tinidazole)
type of Antiparasitic Agents, Nitroimidazoles
Tindamax (tinidazole tablets) is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial used to treat trichomoniasis, giardiasis in patients age 3 and older, amebiasis in patients age 3 and older, and bacterial vaginosis in adult women.
The drug is often used to treat Bacterial vaginosis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- vomiting,
- constipation.
- abdominal discomfort,
- headache,
- fatigue,
- weakness,
- dizziness, and
- indigestion/heartburn,
- feeling unwell (malaise),
- abdominal cramps,
- metallic/bitter taste,
The following drugs are related to Tindamax, either as a replacement or used together:
- Xaciato (clindamycin phosphate vaginal gel)
- Talicia (omeprazole magnesium, amoxicillin and rifabutin delayed-release capsules)
