Thyrogen (thyrotropin alfa for injection)

Thyrogen (thyrotropin alfa for injection) contains a form of human thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and is used as a diagnostic tool in patients who have had thyroid cancer and needed a thyroidectomy (thyroid surgery), to detect any possible remaining thyroid tissue.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• itching,
• hives, 
• difficulty breathing, 
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, 
• wheezing, 
• weakness on one side of the body, 
• red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever, 
• unusual hoarseness, 
• trouble speaking or thinking, 
• problems with balance, 
• drooping on one side of the face, and
• blurred eyesight

The following drugs are related to Thyrogen, either as a replacement or used together:

• Caprelsa (vandetanib)
• Sodium Iodide I 131 (sodium iodide i 131 capsules)
• Tepezza (teprotumumab-trbw for injection, for intravenous use)
