Theolair (theophylline)

Theolair (theophylline) is a xanthine drug used to treat the symptoms and reversible airflow obstruction associated with chronic asthma and other chronic lung diseases, e.g., emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

The drug is often used to treat Asthma .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• headache,
• diarrhea,
• loss of appetite,
• nervousness,
• low blood pressure,
• restlessness,
• trouble sleeping (insomnia),
• abdominal pain,
• stomach cramps,
• irritability,
• high blood sugar (hyperglycemia),
• fast heart rate,
• low blood potassium (hypokalemia),
• vomiting (including vomiting blood),
• muscle tremors,
• irregular heart rate,
• disorientation, and
• seizures.

• Elixophyllin (theophylline anhydrous liquid)
