Surmontil (trimipramine)

Surmontil (trimipramine) is a tricyclic antidepressant used to treat symptoms of depression. Surmontil is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • lightheadedness,

  • fluttering in your chest,

  • trouble sleeping,
  • irritableness,

  • hyperactivity (mentally or physically),
  • increased depression,
  • thoughts of self-harm,
  • pounding heartbeats,
  • mood or behavior changes,
  • hallucinations,
  • twitching,
  • unusual thoughts or behavior,
  • fast heart rate,
  • new or worsening chest pain,
  • eye pain or swelling,
  • tunnel vision,
  • seeing halos around lights,
  • loss of coordination,
  • muscle stiffness,
  • impulsiveness,
  • restless muscle movements in your eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck,
