Veregen (sinecatechins ointment)
type of Topical Skin Products, Keratolytic Agents
Veregen (sinecatechins) Ointment is an herbal product made from green tea leaves used to treat external (on the outside of the body) genital and anal warts in adult patients. Veregen will not cure genital or anal warts, and will not prevent spreading the warts to other people through sexual intercourse or skin-to-skin contact. Veregen will not treat genital warts caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- itching,
- pain, and
- severe burning,
- severe redness or swelling of treated skin,
- painful sores or blisters where the ointment was applied
The following drugs are related to Veregen, either as a replacement or used together:
- Aldara (imiquimod)
- Carac (fluorouracil)
- Condylox Gel (podofilox gel)
- Efudex (fluorouracil)
- Fluoroplex (fluorouracil topical cream)
- Gardasil (quadrivalent human papillomavirus (types 6, 11, 16, 18) recombinant vaccine)
