Septra (trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole)

Septra (trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole) is a combination of two antibiotics used to treat ear infections, urinary tract infections, bronchitis, traveler's diarrhea, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. Septra is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Bronchitis , Pneumonia .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • dizziness,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • ringing in your ears,
  • spinning sensation,
  • sleep problems (insomnia).
  • tired feeling, or
  • painful or swollen tongue,
