Rosuvastatin Calcium Tablets (rosuvastatin calcium)
type of Lipid-Lowering Agents, Statins, HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors
Rosuvastatin calcium tablets are an HMG Co A reductase inhibitor indicated for adult patients with hypertriglyceridemia as an adjunct to diet; adult patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III hyperlipoproteinemia) as an adjunct to diet; and adult patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) to reduce LDL-C, total C, and ApoB. Rosuvastatin calcium is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- weakness,
- pain,
- muscle pain, abdominal
- hypersensitivity reactions (including rash, pruritus, hives, and swelling), and
- pancreatitis.
