Xarelto (rivaroxaban film-coated oral tablets)

Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is a Factor Xa inhibitor indicated for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis which may lead to pulmonary embolism in patients undergoing knee or hip replacement surgery.

The drug is often used to treat Deep vein thrombosis .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• lightheadedness,
• dizziness,
• back pain,
• weakness,
• headaches,
• any bleeding that will not stop,
• bloody or tarry stools, and
• coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
• loss of bladder or bowel control,
• numbness or muscle weakness in your lower body,
• easy bruising or bleeding (nosebleeds, bleeding gums, heavy menstrual bleeding),
• pain, swelling, new drainage or excessive bleeding from a wound or where a needle was injected,
• urine that looks red, pink or brown,
