Virazole (ribavirin)

Virazole (ribavirin) for Inhalation Solution is an antiviral drug used to treat infants and young children who have a severe lung infection caused by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Virazole is not recommended for use in adults.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- fever,
- wheezing,
- cough,
- shallow breathing,
- severe weakness,
- gasping for breath,
- cough with mucus, and
- cold and clammy skin,
- blue-colored lips,
- limpness,
- other worsening breathing problems
The following drugs are related to Virazole, either as a replacement or used together:
- Moderiba (ribavirin tablets)
- Synagis (palivizumab)
