Rebetol (ribavirin)
type of Hepatitis B Hepatitis C Agents, RSV Agents
Rebetol (ribavirin) is an antiviral medication used together with an interferon alfa product (such as Peg-Intron or Intron A) to treat chronic hepatitis C. Some versions of Rebetol are available in generic form.
The drug is often used to treat Hepatitis C .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- blurred vision,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- cough,
- loss of appetite,
- dry mouth,
- tiredness,
- mood changes,
- stomach pain or upset,
- anxiety,
- trouble sleeping,
- hair loss,
- irritability,
- dry skin,
- injection site reactions (pain, swelling, or irritation).
- weight loss or gain,
- tooth and gum problems, or
- flu-like symptoms (e.g., fever, chills, sore throat, muscle aches or pain),
