Rebetol (ribavirin)

Rebetol (ribavirin) is an antiviral medication used together with an interferon alfa product (such as Peg-Intron or Intron A) to treat chronic hepatitis C. Some versions of Rebetol are available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Hepatitis C .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • headache,
  • dizziness,
  • blurred vision,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • cough,
  • loss of appetite,
  • dry mouth,
  • tiredness,
  • mood changes,
  • stomach pain or upset,
  • anxiety,

  • irritability,
  • dry skin,
  • injection site reactions (pain, swelling, or irritation).
