Qudexy XR (topiramate) extended-release is an antiseizure medicine used to treat certain types of seizures (partial-onset seizures and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures) in adults and children 10 years of age and older, and with other medicines to treat certain types of seizures (partial-onset seizures, primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome) in adults and children 2 years and older.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- tiredness,
- shortness of breath,
- blurred vision,
- vomiting,
- sore throat,
- loss of appetite,
- fever,
- restlessness,
- depression,
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- confusion,
- vision problems,
- anxiety,
- trouble sleeping,
- problems with speech,
- mood or behavior changes,
- trouble concentrating,
- thoughts of self-harm,
- high fever,
- agitation,
- painful or difficult urination,
- panic attacks,
- hostility,
- hyperactivity (mentally or physically),
- eye pain or redness,
- skin pain,
- hot and dry skin,
- burning eyes,
- red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
- irregular heartbeats,
- sudden vision loss,
- decreased sweating,
- aggression,
- unexplained weakness, and
- impulsive behavior,
- irritableness,
- skin rash (no matter how mild),
- problems with thinking or memory,
- severe pain in your side or lower back,
- lightheadedness
