Thyrel TRH (protirelin) is a diagnostic agent used to assess thyroid, pituitary, or hypothalamic dysfunction. The brand name Thyrel TRH is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea
- dizziness
- dry mouth
- anxiety
- headache
- lightheadedness
- sweating
- allergic reactions
- changes in taste or unpleasant taste in the mouth
- redness of the face of neck (flushing)
- frequent urination
- stomach cramps
- abdominal discomfort
- changes in blood pressure
- breast enlargement
- tightness in the throat
- pressure in the chest
- tingling sensation
- drowsiness, and
