Protamine (protamines)

Protamine Sulfate (protamines) is a heparin antagonist and a weak anticoagulant indicated in the treatment of heparin (a drug used to treat and prevent blood clots) overdose.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- shortness of breath, or
- slow heart rate (bradycardia),
- sudden fall in blood pressure,
- pulmonary hypertension,
- temporary flushing and a feeling of warmth.
