Prepopik (sodium picosulfate, magnesium oxide, and anhydrous citric acid) for Oral Solution is a stimulant laxative indicated for cleansing of the colon as a preparation for colonoscopy in adults.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- vomiting,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- seizure,
- little or no urination,
- irregular heartbeats,
- severe nausea,
- rectal bleeding,
- painful bloating,
- severe stomach cramps,
- trouble swallowing, and
- trouble drinking liquids
The following drugs are related to Prepopik, either as a replacement or used together:
- Dulcolax (bisacodyl suppositories)
- GoLytely (polyethylene glycol 3350 and electrolytes oral solution)
- HalfLytely and Bisacodyl Tablets (sodium chloride-sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride)
- NuLytely (polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride for oral solution)
- OsmoPrep (sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate and sodium phosphate dibasic anhydrous)
