Prepopik (sodium picosulfate, magnesium oxide, and anhydrous citric acid) for Oral Solution is a stimulant laxative indicated for cleansing of the colon as a preparation for colonoscopy in adults.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • vomiting,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • seizure,
  • little or no urination,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • severe nausea,
  • rectal bleeding,
  • painful bloating,
  • severe stomach cramps,
  • trouble swallowing, and
  • trouble drinking liquids
The following drugs are related to Prepopik, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Dulcolax (bisacodyl suppositories)
  • GoLytely (polyethylene glycol 3350 and electrolytes oral solution)
  • HalfLytely and Bisacodyl Tablets (sodium chloride-sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride)
  • NuLytely (polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride for oral solution)
  • OsmoPrep (sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate and sodium phosphate dibasic anhydrous)
