Varithena (polidocanol) Injectable Foam is a sclerosing agent used to treat incompetent great saphenous veins, accessory saphenous veins, and visible varicosities of the great saphenous vein system above and below the knee.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• confusion,
• pounding heartbeats,
• lightheadedness
• pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs,
• sudden severe headache,
• fluttering in your chest, and
• severe pain, burning, or other irritation in your leg,
• discoloration or skin changes where the injection was given,
• problems with vision, speech or balance,
• severe numbness,

• Asclera (polidocanol injection)
• Sotradecol (sodium tetradecyl)
