Zypitamag (pitavastatin tablets for oral use)
type of Lipid-Lowering Agents, Statins, HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors
Zypitamag (pitavastatin) tablets are an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor indicated for patients with primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipidemia as an adjunctive therapy to diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B (Apo B), triglycerides (TG), and to increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- clay-colored stools, and
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- vomiting,
- confusion,
- tiredness,
- swelling,
- stomach pain (upper right side),
- rapid weight gain,
- little or no urinating,
- pain in your side or lower back,
- muscle weakness in your hips, shoulders, neck, and back,
- trouble lifting your arms,
- trouble climbing or standing,
