Zosyn (piperacillin/tazobactam) for Injection is an antibiotic used to treat patients with moderate to severe bacterial infections. Zosyn is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • fever,
  • swollen glands,
  • skin rash,
  • confusion,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • seizure,
  • constipation,
  • muscle aches,
  • cough,
  • sore throat,
  • burning eyes,
  • skin pain,
  • red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
  • mouth sores,
  • severe stomach pain,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • skin sores,
  • increased thirst or urination,
  • trouble walking,
  • leg cramps,
  • numbness or tingling,
  • muscle weakness, and
  • limp feeling
  • muscle twitching or stiffness,
  • diarrhea that is water or bloody (even if it occurs months after your last dose),
