Persantine IV (dipyridamole)

Persantine IV (dipyridamole) is a coronary vasodilator used as an alternative to exercise in thallium myocardial perfusion imaging for the evaluation of coronary artery disease in patients who cannot exercise adequately. The brand name Persantine IV is discontinued but generic versions may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- chest pain,
- severe dizziness,
- gallstones,
- tightness or swelling of the neck, and
- yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
