Talwin Injection (pentazocine lactate) is a benzazocine indicated for the relief of moderate to severe pain. Talwin Injection may also be used for preoperative or pre-anesthetic medication and as a supplement to surgical anesthesia.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• itching,
• vomiting,
• lightheadedness,
• shortness of breath,
• dizziness,
• headache,
• sweating,
• flushing,
• confusion, and
• hallucinations,
• sleepiness,
• euphoria,
• injection site reactions (stinging,
• hard lump,
• skin dimpling,
• ulceration),
• disorientation.

The following drugs are related to Talwin Injection, either as a replacement or used together:

• Mitigo (morphine sulfate injection)
• Qdolo (tramadol hydrochloride oral solution)
