Pentam 300 (pentamidine isethionate for injection) is an anti-protozoal drug is indicated for the treatment of pneumonia due to Pneumocystis carinii.
The drug is often used to treat Pneumonia .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- fever,
- night sweats,
- easy bruising,
- unusual bleeding,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- confusion,
- dizziness,
- headache,
- wheezing,
- sweating,
- weakness,
- cough,
- sore throat,
- painful or difficult urination,
- irritability,
- hunger,
- burning in your eyes, and
- severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back,
- feeling jittery,
- hallucination,
- choking,
- fast or uneven heart rate,
- pain, burning, irritation, or skin changes where the injection was given,
- worsening symptoms,
- other breathing problems after using the medication,
- signs of a new infection,
- purple or pinpoint spots under your skin,
