Penicillin VK (penicillin v potassium)

Penicillin V potassium (penicillin VK) is an antibiotic used to treat mild to moderately severe infections due to penicillin G-sensitive microorganisms. Penicillin VK is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• skin rash,
• hives, 
• abdominal pain,
• stomach upset,
• itching, and
• black "hairy" tongue.
