Syfovre (pegcetacoplan injection, for intravitreal use)

Syfovre (pegcetacoplan injection) is a complement inhibitor indicated for the treatment of geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• blurred vision,
• eye pain,
• decreased vision,
• headaches, and
• severe eye pain,
• redness in the white of the eye,
• extreme sensitivity to bright light,
• swelling of the eyelid,
• sudden appearance of many floaters,
• flashes of light in one or both eyes,
• gradually reduced side (peripheral) vision,
• a curtain-like shadow over your field of vision,
• visual distortions,
• reduced central vision,
• needing brighter light when reading,
• difficulty adjusting to low light levels,
• difficulty recognizing faces,
• a well-defined blurry spot or blind spot in the field of vision, 
• pain inside and around the eye,
• irritation and discomfort to the eyes
