TriLyte (PEG-3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride for oral solution) is a laxative solution that also contains potassium, sodium, and other minerals to replace electrolytes that are passed from the body in the stool used to clean the bowel before colonoscopy, a barium X-ray, or other intestinal procedures. TriLyte is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • bloating,
  • gas, or
  • feelings of fullness in the stomach or abdomen

  • Dulcolax (bisacodyl suppositories)
  • NuLytely (polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride for oral solution)
