Veltassa (patiromer) for oral suspension is a potassium binder indicated for the treatment of high potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- seizure,
- nausea
- muscle pain or weakness,
- numbness, and
- back-and-forth movements of the eyes,
The following drugs are related to Veltassa, either as a replacement or used together:
- Aldactone (spironolactone)
- Klor-Con (potassium chloride)
- Slow-K (potassium chloride)
