Protonix I.V. (pantoprazole sodium)

Protonix IV (pantoprazole sodium) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for short-term treatment (less than 10 days) of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and a history of erosive esophagitis in adult patients.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• itching,
• rash,
• fever,
• seizures,
• severe dizziness,
• abdominal pain or cramping,
• blood or mucus in your stool,
• persistent diarrhea,
• trouble breathing, and
• unusually fast, slow or irregular heartbeat,
• persistent muscle spasms,
• swelling of the face, tongue and throat,
• changes in the amount of urine

• Alka-Seltzer (calcium carbonate)
• Yosprala (aspirin and omeprazole tablets)
• Dartisla ODT (glycopyrrolate orally disintegrating tablets)

• Pepcid (famotidine)
• Zantac 360 (famotidine)
• Levsin (hyoscyamine)
• Konvomep (omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate for oral suspension)
• Prevacid (lansoprazole)
• Prevpac (lansoprazole, amoxicillin and clarithromycin)
• Prilosec (omeprazole)
• Talicia (omeprazole magnesium, amoxicillin and rifabutin delayed-release capsules)
• Zegerid (omeprazole, sodium bicarbonate)
