Palynziq (pegvaliase-pqpz) injection is a phenylalanine-metabolizing enzyme indicated to reduce blood phenylalanine concentrations in adult patients with phenylketonuria who have uncontrolled blood phenylalanine concentrations greater than 600 micromol/L on existing management.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• itching,
• rash,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• fast heartbeats,
• dizziness,
• wheezing,
• chest tightness,
• difficulty breathing, and
• loss of bladder or bowel control,
• flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling)
