Oxtellar XR (oxcarbazepine) in an antieleptic drug (AED), an anticonvulsant, used as an additional therapy as part of treatment for partial seizures in adults and children ages 6 to 17. Oxtellar XR is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• fever,
• confusion,
• cough,
• unusual tiredness,
• sore throat,
• mood changes,
• seizures,
• depression,
• severe dizziness, and
• vision changes,
• shaking,
• swollen lymph nodes,
• severe nausea,
• loss of coordination,
• extreme drowsiness,
• double vision,
• suicidal thoughts,
• rapid or uncontrolled eye movements,
• easy bleeding or bleeding,
• skin reaction,
• skin rash or blisters with peeling, itching and swelling
