OraVerse (phentolamine mesylate) Injection is an alpha adrenergic blocker used to reverse soft-tissue anesthesia, i.e., anesthesia of the lip and tongue, and the associated functional deficits resulting from an intraoral submucosal injection of a local anesthetic containing a vasoconstrictor.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• vomiting,
• fever,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• dizziness,
• severe headache,
• fatigue,
• chest pain or pressure,
• anxiety,
• neck stiffness,
• sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body,
• Lack of coordination
• disorientation,
• pain in the neck, back or arm,
• irregular heartbeat, 
• mild confusion,
• abnormal or slurred speech,
• difficulty understanding,
• memory loss,
• loss of balance, and
