Omontys (peginesatide)

Omontys (peginesatide) is an erythropoietin indicated for the treatment of anemia due to chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adult patients on dialysis. The brand name Omontys has been discontinued.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• fever,
• general feeling of illness,
• easy bruising,
• unusual bleeding,
• pale skin,
• lightheadedness,
• shortness of breath,
• confusion,
• rapid breathing,
• chest pain,
• seizure,
• severe headache,
• wheezing,
• high blood pressure,
• fainting,
• sweating,
• cough,
• muscle weakness,
• coughing up blood,
• purple or red pinpoint spots under your skin,
• tingly feeling,
• pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs,
• weak pulse,
• trouble concentrating,
• anxiety, and
• problems with vision, speech, or balance,
• seizure
• pain spreading to the arm or shoulder,
• sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body,
• rapid, irregular, or slow heart rate,
