Xolair (omalizumab)
type of Monoclonal Antibodies, Anti-asthmatics
Xolair (omalizumab) is an antibody that helps decrease allergic responses in the body used to treat moderate to severe asthma that is caused by allergies in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Xolair is usually given after other asthma medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms.
The drug is often used to treat Asthma .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- itching,
- rash,
- fever,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
- wheezing,
- cough,
- chest pain or pressure,
- sudden numbness or weakness,
- trouble breathing,
- chest tightness,
- coughing up blood, and
- muscle pain,
- problems with vision or speech,
- flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling),
- swelling or redness in an arm or leg
- anxiety or fear,
- fast or weak heartbeats,
- numbness or tingling in your arms or legs,
