Symbyax (olanzapine and fluoxetine)

Symbyax (olanzapine and fluoxetine hydrochloride) is a combination of a thienobenzodiazepine, a type of atypical antipsychotic, and a type of antidepressant called a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat depression caused by bipolar disorder (manic depression). Symbyax may also be used to treat depression when other medications have not worked.
The drug is often used to treat Bipolar disorder .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- swollen glands,
- skin rash,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- chest pain,
- blurred vision,
- headache,
- flu-like symptoms,
- sweating,
- agitation,
- overactive reflexes,
- restlessness,
- increased thirst,
- increased urination,
- fruity breath odor,
- shallow breathing,
- confusion, and
- anxiety,
- panic attacks,
- trouble sleeping,
- impulsive behavior,
- irritableness,
- hostility,
- aggression,
- hyperactivity (mentally or physically),
- increased depression,
- slurred speech,
- high fever,
- mood or behavior changes,
- hallucinations,
- fast or pounding heartbeats,
- fast heart rate,
- tremors,
- hunger,
- eye pain or swelling,
- severe weakness,
- unusual bruising,
- tunnel vision,
- seeing halos around lights,
- loss of coordination,
- feeling unsteady,
- upset stomach
- being unable to urinate,
- severe dizziness,
- yellowing of your skin or eyes,
- hot and dry skin,
- heavy sweating,
- thoughts of suicide
- uneven heartbeats,
- uncontrollable muscle movements of your lips, tongue, eyes, face, arms, or legs,
- feeling increased thirst or hot,
- very stiff (rigid) muscle,
