Nutropin Depot [somatropin (rDNA origin) for injectable suspension] is a form of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) used for the long-term treatment of growth failure due to a lack of adequate endogenous GH secretion. The brand name Nutropin Depot is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • skin rash,
  • lightheadedness,
  • confusion,
  • chills,
  • clay-colored stools,
  • dizziness,
  • dry mouth,
  • headache,
  • fainting,
  • sweating,
  • cough,
  • shivering,
  • chest pain or pressure,
  • sore throat,
  • little or no urination,
  • increased thirst,
  • hoarseness,
  • runny nose,
  • dark colored urine,
  • loss of consciousness,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • trouble sleeping,
  • depression,
  • hair loss,
  • pain,
  • feeling cold,
  • vomit that looks like coffee grounds,
  • yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice),

  • swollen or painful joints,
  • swelling around the genitals,
  • unpleasant breath,
  • white patches in the mouth, tongue, or throat,
