Tri-Sprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol tablets-triphasic regimen)

Tri-Sprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) is a combination of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone used as contraception to prevent pregnancy. Tri-Sprintec is also used to treat severe acne. Birth control pills have also been shown to make periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods (dysmenorrhea), and decrease risk of ovarian cysts.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- fever,
- shortness of breath,
- tiredness,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
- pounding in your neck or ears,
- sweating,
- weakness,
- chest pain or pressure,
- sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body),
- slurred speech,
- problems with vision or balance,
- coughing up blood,
- sudden vision loss,
- mood changes
- sudden severe headache,
- stabbing chest pain,
- pain or warmth in one or both legs,
- sleep problems,
- breast lump,
- swelling in your hands, ankles or feet,
- tired feeling, and
- changes in pattern or severity of migraine headaches,
