Nor-QD (norethindrone)

Nor-QD (norethindrone 0.35 mg) is a form of progesterone, a female hormone used for birth control (contraception) to prevent pregnancy. Nor-QD is also used to treat menstrual disorders, endometriosis, or abnormal vaginal bleeding caused by a hormone imbalance. Nor-QD is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Endometriosis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • loss of appetite,
  • dark urine,
  • lightheadedness,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • chest pain,
  • severe headache,
  • swelling,
  • stomach pain (upper right side),
  • increased thirst,
  • increased urination,
  • shortness of breath, and
  • sudden numbness or weakness,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • sudden vision loss,
  • missed menstrual periods,
  • bulging eyes,
  • unusual vaginal bleeding,
  • problems with vision or speech,
  • breast lump,
  • swelling or redness in an arm or leg
  • pelvic pain (especially on one side),
The following drugs are related to Nor-QD, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Nexplanon (etonogestrel implant)
  • Generess Fe (norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol chewable tablets and ferrous fumarate)
