Nityr (nitisinone tablets)

Nityr (nitisinone) tablets are a hydroxyphenyl-pyruvate dioxygenase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of hereditary tyrosinemia type 1 (HT-1) in combination with dietary restriction of tyrosine and phenylalanine.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • diarrhea,
  • easy bruising,
  • clay-colored stools,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • vision problems,
  • redness or swelling,
  • eye pain,
  • unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina, or rectum),
  • burning,
  • sudden change in behavior, ability, or development (sitting up, crawling, walking, talking, etc),
  • purple or red pinpoint sports under your skin,
  • white or yellow patches on your eyes, and
  • calluses, peeling, or hardened skin on the palms of your hands or the soles of your feet
