Nithiodote (sodium nitrite injection for intravenous infusion)

Nithiodote (sodium nitrite injection and sodium thiosulfate injection for intravenous infusion) is an antidote used to treat acute cyanide poisoning that is judged to be serious or life-threatening.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- confusion,
- dizziness,
- blurred vision,
- headache,
- low blood pressure (hypotension),
- seizures,
- irregular heartbeats,
- fast heart rate,
- palpitations,
- lightheadedness/fainting,
- coma
- methemoglobinemia,
- disorientation, and

- Chemet (succimer)
- Duraclon (clonidine injection)
- Cyanokit (hydroxocobalamin for injection)
- Desferal (deferoxamine)
