Mycobutin (rifabutin)

Mycobutin (rifabutin) is an antibiotic used to prevent mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) in people with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. Mycobutin is also used with other medications to treat tuberculosis in people with HIV.

The drug is often used to treat HIV .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• headache,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• skin rash,
• loss of appetite,
• changes in taste,
• bloating,
• stomach upset or pain,
• itching, or
• belching,

• Evotaz (atazanavir and cobicistat tablets for oral administration)
• Edurant (rilpivirine tablets)
