MS Contin (morphine sulfate) is a narcotic pain reliever prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain. MS Contin is the generic form of morphine.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • vomiting,
  • lightheadedness,
  • chest pain,
  • dizziness,
  • slow heart rate,
  • fast or pounding heartbeats,
  • weak or shallow breathing,
  • extreme drowsiness,
  • sighing,
  • breathing that stops during sleep,
  • weakness
  • worsening tiredness, and
