Novantrone (mitoxantrone for injection concentrate)

Novantrone (mitoxantrone) is a cancer medication used to treat prostate cancer and certain types of leukemia. Mitoxantrone is also used to treat the symptoms of relapsing multiple sclerosis. The brand name Novantrone is discontinued in the U.S. Generic forms may be available.

The drug is often used to treat Prostate cancer .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• stomach pain,
• constipation,
• headache,
• unusual tiredness,
• runny nose,
• hair loss,
• heartburn,
• missed menstrual periods,
• heavy menstrual bleeding,
• depressed mood, or
• blue-green colored urine or a bluish color of the whites of the eyes for a few days after each dose
