Minitran (nitroglycerin transdermal delivery system)

Minitran (nitroglycerin) is an organic nitrate indicated for the prevention of chest pain (angina pectoris) due to coronary artery disease. The onset of action of transdermal nitroglycerin is not sufficiently rapid for this product to be useful in aborting an acute attack. The brand name Minitran has been discontinued. It may be available as a generic.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- lightheadedness,
- headache,
- low blood pressure (hypotension),
- fainting, and
- increased angina (chest pain)
