Nuvessa (metronidazole vaginal gel 1.3%) is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial indicated for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV) in females 12 years of age and older.

The drug is often used to treat Bacterial vaginosis .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• headache,
• diarrhea, and
• vaginal yeast infection,
• menstrual cramps
• vaginal itching and discomfort,
