Metrogel vaginal (metronidazole) is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial vaginosis.

The drug is often used to treat Bacterial vaginosis .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• dizziness,
• numbness,
• vomiting,
• sleep problems (insomnia),
• constipation,
• loss of appetite,
• upset stomach,
• runny nose,
• increased sweating,
• acne,
• urinating more than usual,
• burning or stinging when the medicine is applied,
• pelvic pain or cramping,
• breast discharge or enlargement, or
• rarely, seizures.
