Toprol XL (metoprolol succinate)

Toprol XL (metoprolol) is a beta-blocker prescribed for treating high blood pressure, heart pain, abnormal rhythms of the heart, and some neurologic conditions. Toprol XL is available as a generic drug.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• lightheadedness,
• shortness of breath,
• swelling,
• very slow heartbeats,
• rapid weight gain, and
• cold feeling in your hands and feet
