Testred (methyltestosterone)

Testred (methyltestosterone) is a man-made form of testosterone, a naturally occurring male sex hormone, used in men and boys to treat conditions caused by a lack of testosterone, such as delayed puberty or other hormonal imbalances. Testred is also used in women to treat breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• upper stomach pain,
• loss of appetite,
• itching,
• dark urine,
• clay-colored stools, and
• yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• shortness of breath,
• swelling,
• rapid weight gain,
• tired feeling,
• acne,
• increased or ongoing erection of the penis,
• hoarse or deepened voice, and
• enlarged clitoris
• changes in your skin color,
• Specific to women:
• change in menstrual periods,
• male-pattern hair growth (such as on the chin or chest)

The following drugs are related to Testred, either as a replacement or used together:

• Androxy (fluoxymesterone tablets)
• Carospir (spironolactone)
• Methitest (methyltestosterone tablets, usp)

The following supplements are related to Testred, and may be used together with the drug:

• Folic Acid (s.)
• Olive (s.)
• Vitamin A (s.)
• Beta-Carotene (s.)
