Methylin Oral Solution (methylphenidate HCI) is a mild central nervous system stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and narcolepsy. Methylin Oral Solution is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • lightheadedness,
  • chest pain,
  • numbness,
  • hostility,
  • aggression,
  • trouble breathing,
  • hallucinations,
  • paranoia,
  • pain,
  • unexplained wounds,
  • cold feeling,
  • new behavior problems,
  • penis erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer
  • skin color changes (pale, red, or blue appearance) in your fingers or toes, and
