Metadate CD (methylphenidate hydrochloride) Extended-Release Capsules is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and narcolepsy.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • headache,
  • sweating,
  • lightheadedness,
  • dizziness,
  • vomiting,
  • constipation,
  • skin rash,
  • loss of appetite,
  • nervousness,
  • weight loss,
  • stomach pain,
  • dry mouth,
  • trouble sleeping (insomnia),
  • irritability,
  • (rarely) drowsiness.
  • blurred vision or other vision problems,
  • numbness/tingling/cold feeling in your hands or feet,
  • blue fingers or toes, or
