Mesnex (mesna)

Mesnex (mesna) is a detoxifying agent used to prevent bleeding in the bladder (hemorrhagic cystitis) during chemotherapy with ifosfamide (Ifex). Some forms of Mesnex are available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Cystitis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • headache,
  • dizziness,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • constipation,
  • skin rash,
  • loss of appetite,
  • stomach pain,
  • pale skin,
  • drowsiness,
  • flushing,
  • injection site reactions (pain, redness, or irritation),
  • sleepiness,
  • sensitive skin,
  • flu or cold symptoms (e.g., sore throat, fever, chills, shivering, cough, body aches),
  • swelling or water retention, or
  • low blood pressure.

  • Proquin XR (ciprofloxacin hcl)
  • Imfinzi (durvalumab injection)
